Institute of Hotel Management, Srinagar was established in 1982 as 5th Hotel management institute of country. with a vision to promote hospitality education, development of human resources and training to under privilege for social welfare and rural development of J&K State in particular. Over 2 decades of setting trends in providing quality education, focused upon recent developments, innovations, professionalism, to all those students who wanted to have a professional degree, more than just usual qualification to enter the global competitive hospitality field. The IHM Srinagar has Contributed adequate professional man power to hospitality industry since its inception and is in continuing process.

The institute was till recently functioning at Nehru-Park, Boulevard, Srinagar has now shifted in its newly constructed campus which is situated in the bank of river Jehlum, at a posh civil lines area at Rajbagh, Srinagar having a beautiful landscape around. The institute is having state-of-art building as main campus structure in addition to hostel and the staff quarters amidst delightful lush green lawns.
