Institute of Information and Mathematical Sciences, Massey University is one of several research-led institutes within the College of Sciences at Massey. The Institute focuses on four closely related disciplines; Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science and Information Technology; domains that underpin every aspect of their lives, work, leisure, even interactions with family and friends. The Institute is proud of the contributions it makes to these endeavors at local, national and international levels through its research and teaching.
The Institute has one of the highest-ranked Mathematics groups in New Zealand, with research in analysis and number theory, industrial and applied mathematics and mathematical biology. The Statistics group engages in high-quality research as well as applied consulting, with specialties in graph theory, regression and advanced modeling, Bayesian analysis and ecological statistics.
