Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow was established in 1886 with Fine Arts, affiliated to Calcutta University and later to Allahabad University. The College is the outcome of the dedication, struggles and initiatives of Isabella Thoburn, an American Missionary who was among the first missionaries sponsored by the Women’s Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church to India. The objective of the college is to Increase awareness towards national and global social concerns and to promote skill oriented programs.
The Isabella Thoburn College Society provides education at the intermediate, undergraduate and post graduate level in Arts, Science and Education. The college offers full time residential and distance education courses to the students who take admission, which justifies its flexible approach to education.
