Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal was started serving the field of education in 1980. The college has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), and is affiliated to Kakatiya University. The institute conducts undergraduate and postgraduate courses in several disciplines. It is one of the premier institutions not only in the field of science and technology, but also of management. Over the years, numerous reputed organizations have visited the institution for selecting students for their organization.
Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science was established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in late 1970s, considering the need of institutes providing quality education along with state-of-the-art facilities, required by the engineering aspirants. The institute has got the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

The Institutes Training and Placement Section is the first amongst the private engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh to start a full fledged Training & Placement Cell. The institute is permanently affiliated to the Kakatiya University (KU), Warangal and accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. There college was ranked as 8th among Techschools in A.P and 48th ranked college in all over India among the top 50 private Techschools (Source: OUTLOOK 2007-2008). Multi National Companies have accredited the institute for providing placements.
