Kamla Raja Girls Govt. Post-Graduate College (KRGC), Gwalior was established in 1937. The college is a pioneer and premier institution for women in higher education. The main objective is to make the girls emerge as empowered women, aware and worthy of facing the challenges of the fast changing modern world and to cope with in accomplishing this mission by providing a congenial and proactive atmosphere to them.
The National Assessment & Accreditation council, Bangalore (NAAC) has accredited this college as B level (equivalent to previous * * * * grade) among autonomous colleges in 2002. The proposal for upgrading the institution as deemed university is under consideration of the UGC. During reaccreditation process by NAAC in 2010, college has accredited again by B grade.
The undergraduate and post graduate teaching offer in 26 and 23 subjects respectively in Arts, Science, Commerce and Home Science faculties a range which is possibly greatest in the entire Madhya Pradesh. The faculty is experienced and well qualified as 85 teachers out of 101 hold Ph. D. degree.
