Kerala Law Academy Law College, Thiruvananthapuram was established in 1967 as an evening college to impart instructior for LLB course. The college has over the years grown to become one of the premier law colleges in the state. It has made its mark in extra curricular activities as well. The college has been conducting an All India Moot Court Competition annually since 1990. It was the college team of the college which represented India in the Philip.C.Jessup International Moot Court Competition held at Washington DC in 1994, 1996 & 1997. The college team represents India in the William C. International Commercial Arbitration Moot held at Vienna in April 1997 and 1998.
The college has organized an efficient Legal And Clinic which has rendered legal aid to the poor and needy sections of society who do not have the resources to vindicate their rights. The clinic has been able to settle many a dispute through its conciliatory efforts. The college has organized a scientific system for providing practical training to LLB students. For this, it has started a center near the court to provide guidance to the students and to monitor their progress. The Centre is working excellently by giving the students necessary inputs to master the techniques of advocacy and legal drafting.
