Lala Lajpat Rai College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai was established in 1959 by Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Trust. The courses offered by the college are university approved and hence are as per the curriculum designed by the University of Mumbai. The aim of the college is to educate and train students in the field of commerce, trade, industry, and management and information technology and have collaboration with industry for equipping students with relevant skills and attitude.
The college has bachelor of commerce is the course aided by the university. The add-on courses such as taxation, insurance, travel and tourism, computers and e-commerce focus mainly on practical training. The college attaches great importance to discipline and expects all concerned to observe scrupulously the rules and regulations made for the purpose, for a healthy discipline which is essential for a sound education.
