In order to upgrade the knowledge of working executives of export enterprises, service agencies and institutions like banks, insurance, chambers of commerce and enhance their operational competence, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi, has been offering a 4-month Certificate Programme in Export Management since 1977-78. A thorough knowledge of the various facets of international business is important in the present global economic and trading environment. Prior permission from the Director is necessary for absence. Continuous absence will result in removal of the names from the rolls.

Therefore a market system, includes – participants, distribution channels and relationships. This programme has been tailored for non-marketing executives who are interested in learning about marketing. Certificate in Information Security, Controls & Audit of Business Information Systems We are witnessing numerous instances of credit card details being pilfered from servers, Intellectual Property items being stolen, virulent computer viruses being unleashed, individuals being harassed through obnoxious emails and chat messages, fraudulent financial transactions siphoning away hard earned money and many more such security lapses. There is, therefore, an urgent need to inculcate Information Security awareness in all users of Information Systems, particularly the management personnel. To this end LIBA has designed a special course in collaboration with ISACA, Chennai Chapter. The course has been tailored to the needs of mgt professionals and executives and aims at creating among them awareness of the risks associated with Information Systems and the knowledge required to secure it. Certificate in Supply Chain Modelling & Analysis Supply Chain Management (SCM) centers on concepts and techniques that enable firms to better coordinate material and information flows, and non-material activities associated with logistical and marketing processes that occur within and across organizations. This course will discuss concepts and key trends in SCM. Supply chain integrates many aspects of business functions such as forecasting, inventory management, information systems, materials planning and control and customer service. Supply chains perform two distinct functions: a physical function and a market mediation function. The physical function includes transformation (manufacturing and assembly), storage, and transportation. The market mediation function, on the other hand, ensures that the products reaching the market place matches what consumers want to buy. Most OR/OM literature, under the umbrella of production and inventory control, has focused on the physical function of the supply chain. More recently, with the growing popularity of supply chain management, the market mediation function started receiving considerable attention. Moreover, the emphasis has shifted away from centralized control, where issues of competition and coordination do not arise, towards a more decentralized view of the supply chain. This course aims at focusing issues for handling such requirements in future wherein you would be provided with required inputs.
