Visa Process
 
As a student coming from India, you need an entrance visa and residence permit to live in the Netherlands for more than three months. The application for this entrance visa and/or residence permit is done by the Visa Office of Maastricht University after you have been (provisionally) admitted.
 
Registration Municipality
 
After arrival, all foreign students need to register in the municipal register of the city where they are going to live.
 
Working in the Netherlands
 
Indian students have the opportunity to work 10 hours per week during their programme OR work full-time during the summer months: July and August. At the moment a student decides to work next his study or during the summer months he/she needs to have a Dutch health insurance.
 
 
 
Maastricht University aims to further strengthen its position as a leading European university offering high-quality education with an international orientation. To this end, the university implements a proactive recruitment policy for Indian students, in particular for the master's programmes. Scholarships are made available by the Maastricht University Scholarship Fund in order to encourage talented Indian students to follow a Master's programme at Maastricht University. One of these Scholarships is the India Scholarship.
 
Who is eligible?
 
Applicants must be admissible for a master's programme or graduate programme for professionals at Maastricht University and must not be older than 35 years at the start of the academic year (1 September 2011).
 
Applicants must be Indian residents and meet the requirements for obtaining an entry visa and residence permit for the Netherlands.
 
Duration of the High Potential Scholarship
 
The High Potential scholarship is awarded for the duration of the Master's programme, with a maximum of 12 months. In case of a two-year Master's programme, the Scholarship Committee will award the scholarship for a maximum of 24 months.
 
Amount of the India Scholarship programme
 
India Large scholarship: € 6,000 (50% of the tuition fee)
 
India Medium scholarship: € 4,000 (33% of the tuition fee)
 
Number of available India Scholarships
 
In total 18 India Scholarships will be available in academic year 2011-2012. India India Large Scholarship: 12, India Medium Scholarship: 6
