Magadh Mahila College, Bihar was established in 1946. The college is permanently affiliated under section 12 B of U.G.C, accredited with B++ grade by the UGC and NAAC and College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) status was accorded by the UGC. The institute is the oldest college for women in Bihar. It is a multi faculty college, began as a Government College and today holds the pride of place as a constituent unit of Patna University, teaching a vastly diverse number of subjects and disciplines.
The students of Magadh Mahila College have excelled in academics, as well as in sports and music for the last six decades. They have also brought accolades to the college with their extra ordinary performances in software engineering and IT sectors.

Magadh Mahila College is situated to the north of the historic Gandhi Maidan of Patna, on the bank of the river Ganga. With a number of fruit- bearing trees like mango, tamarind, lemon, plantain etc. & also large shade-giving trees, like Banyan, Peepal, Neem and Ashok, the college premises has a quiet and serene setting. Gardens, with rows of colourful flowers, add to the pleasantness of the campus milieus.
