Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College for Women (MLACW), Bangalore was established in 1972. The college was established in response to the persistent demands of the residents of North Bangalore for an exclusive women’s college in their neighborhood. College is reaccredited by NAAC with grade A. It is affiliated to Bangalore University and recognized by UGC under session 2(f) and 12(b). College owes its creation to the persevering efforts of its founding father Dr.K.N.V Sastri, a noted historian and political thinker, Dr. M.N Mahadevan, a renowned doctor, and Sri. T.S Rajam, chairman of the TVS group of companies. College is named after Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni, is well known in history as the regenerator of the Wodeyar dynasty of Mysore.
