Mount Carmel College (MCC), Bangalore was established in 1948. It is a premier institution for women’s education in India and run by the sisters of the CSST order. The institution has stood the test of time which is reflected in its dynamism and energy. College is awarded A grade under the CGPA system of accreditation in 2012 and recognized by UGC as a college with potential for excellence. College is affiliated to Bangalore University. It has always been the forerunner of constructive changes in academics to help generations enrich their knowledge and enhance skills to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving world. The main objective of the college is to work towards the integrity of creation and foster interconnectedness, kinship and eco – justice.
MCC envisions a life-oriented education that empowers the students through a humanizing and liberative process, to be agents of transformation and development at different levels of life. Enabled and empowered, college responds proactively to concerns and conflicts inherent in today’s reality, especially those of women and persons who are unable to exercise their freedom to be human and work for the integrity of creation. The mission of the college is to facilitate leadership among the students enabling them to proactively involve themselves in social liberation.

The Placement Cell of Mount Carmel College (autonomous) has been training students and providing them with opportunities to get placed since the year 2002.Students from all disciplines undergo career counseling by a professional counselor throughout the year. The placement cell conducts various activities and workshops such as resume writing, interview skills, group discussions, aptitude tests and mock interviews for the students. The students also attend pre-placement talks organized by the companies which are then followed by tests and interviews in the college campus.
