National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai was established in 1963 by the Government of India with the assistance of United Nations Development Project (UNDP) through the International Labour Organization (ILO). NITIE is an autonomous body under the Ministry of HRD, Government of India and is governed by a Board of Governors, comprising of eminent personalities from Government, Academicians and Industry.
 
NITIE Mumbai is India's only training institute that sought to teach materials management, work studies, inventory control, shop floor management and personnel management to India's industry professionals. The institute provides courses in the engineering field at the PG Diploma level which is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

Placement Cell :-

NITIE follows a Slot Process, where the recruiting companies are slotted based on different days with regard students preferences. Their preferences are based on various criteria such as Job Profile offered, Career Growth opportunities, Remuneration etc. The criteria and slot process varies each year. In Jan 2010, there were two slots - Slot 0 and Slot 1.Each placement day is declared “closed”, once all the companies slotted for the day finalize their lists. The companies submit their shortlists in a sealed envelop to the Placement Office.

After the closure of the placement day, the placement office opens the envelops and students confirm their acceptance of job offers. Companies are informed by the Placement office about the confirmation of job acceptance by the respective students.For further details on rules & regulations, schedule and any queries related to recruitment process, please contact the Placement Office, NITIE.
