National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand is one amongst the ten newly sanctioned NITs in 2009 by the Government of India under the 11th Five year Plan. The Institute is fully funded by Government of India under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. There are three branches namely Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Curriculum shall be drawn on the lines of IITs and shall have the best practices. The admission in NIT Uttarakhand is based on the entrance test which is AIEEE conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education.
