Nitte Menakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) an Autonomous Institute is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum and Approved and Accredited by AICE, Govt of India, New Delhi and Approved by Govt. of Karnataka. NMIT was started in the year 2001 to cater to the needs of the Engineering professional for the Global market. The Institution is growing from strength to strength under the broad parasol of NITTE EDUCATION TRUST.

NMIT campus at Bangalore is located in sprawling 23 acres land. The Campus is a Sylvan learning center located off the International Airport road near Yelahanka, Bangalore.

• Nittie Meenakshi Institute of Technology is the youngest Engineering College to be conferred the prestigious Autonomous status by VTU/State of Karnataka/UGC.
• It is one of the few engineering college in Karnataka which has been granted additional seats up to 15% by AICTE exclusively for the students belonging to the categories of Foreign Nationals / PIO / Children of Indians working in Gulf countries.

Research and Devlopment @ NMIT

NMIT has strong focus on excellence in education and research. The Institution-Industry Interaction have been excellent ever since the inception of the Institution. The Institution has been receiving good funding from sponsored projects. The institution has dynamic faculty strength with a wide range of research experience. Research and development activities form an important component of NMIT's mission. Faculty and students have strived hard to promote the research culture. Innumerable R&D and consultancy projects have been successfully completed by faculty members and students. NMIT focuses its research activity to accomplish its mission both nationality and internationality. This is being achieved through various programme and collaboration with leading research organizations. The labs are equipped with facilities to carry out the research activity in the state of art technology.

Facilities & Infrastructure

Digital Library Students and Faculty members can access Courseware i.e..Video Lectures, Lecture Notes of MIT, Berkely, Stanford University NPTEL (National Programme for Technology Enhanced Learning), both in-house and form their residences.

Hotel The College has modern hostel facilities in the campus for both boys and girls with in-house mess facility providing hygienic and nutritious diet. Safety and comfort of the students is our primary focus and we have an in house warden monitoring the welfare of the students who is guided by the student's Welfare Dean. The hostels have solar systems for providing hot water apart from the modern amenities like recreation facilities, library, TV room, cafeteria and stationary cell. There is an on-campus Medical Centre and an MOU has been signed with a nearby hospital for providing medical facilities for students and faculty members.

Canteen Well equipped canteen serving multi cuisine. It caters to the need of the staff, students and members of the hostel. A coffee shop which is open till late evenings. Keeping in mind the palate of the north Indian students with us we have introduced chat corner in the campus, All these are priced reasonably as a subsidy is given from the management to the caterers.

Placement and Training Cell The Institute has a full-fledged placement and training cell headed by a senior Army Officer. It conducts regular training for students to improve their skills in facing interviews. Guest Lectures, Seminars by CEOs and Senior Executive of the Industries are conducted on regular basis. The placement record of the institute is very impressive. Various training programmes have been conducted for the students to enhance their employability in the challenging industry. To name a few we have campus connect of Infosys Technology EMC^2 and Entrepreneurship Development program by EDI. Basic and advanced soft skills, project Management Quality Engineering, Technology in Enterprise, Industry grade project and Industry certification etc. to increase the value delivered to the end customer.
