North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong was established in 1973. The university has been re-accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade. The objectives of the University, as laid down in the act, are to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in branches of learning, to pay special attention to the improvement of the social, economic conditions and welfare of the north-eastern hill region people, and in particular, focus on the intellectual, academic and cultural advancement of the students.
