Overview

SRM University, Chennai formerly SRM Institute of Science and Technology, is a deemed university was established in 1985. It was started as SRM Engineering College in Kattankulathur, under University of Madras. In 2003, SRM Engineering, Kattankulathur, Chennai was brought under the ambit of SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai a deemed to be University, later it got renamed as SRM University in 2006. SRM is accredited by NAAC with 'A' Grade in the year 2013. SRM University is placed in A category by MHRD.

Their vision is to emerge as a World - Class University in creating and disseminating knowledge, and providing students a unique learning experience in Science, Technology, Medicine, Management and other areas of scholarship that will best serve the world and betterment of mankind.
