Overview

Sathyabama University, Chennai was established in 1987 which was formerly known as Sathyabama Engineering College by Jeppiaar Educational Trust. It is a pioneer institute imparting knowledge in the areas of engineering, science, technology and education. The institution's progress and contribution in the field of technical education for over two decades made the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India to grant Deemed University status  in 2001 and University status  in 2006 under section(3) of the UGC Act, 1956.

The University has been awarded B++ grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and ISO 9001:2000 for professional quality management. The University has undertaken various sponsored and collaborative research and development projects funded by national organizations. The University offers courses in 24 branches of Engineering at the UG level and 24 courses at PG level in addition to Sciences, MBA, MCA and Ph.D programs in all disciplines.

Scholarships at Sathyabama University -

Affordability shall not be an obstacle for any student who wishes to pursue his/her education in Sathyabama University. The University offers Scholarships and fee waiver to deserving students on the basis of academic merit and economically downtrodden pupils. Students can continue to avail this financial assistance throughout the course based on their performance.

Sathyabama University offers various Scholarships for the meritorious students. Every semester in all disciplines, the University offers more than Rs.27 lakhs for overall toppers and semester toppers as merit scholarship.  Every semester five students from each section are awarded with cash based on their academic performance.

Placement and Training at Sathyabama University -

The University have full-fledged placement cell, which monitors the employment opportunities and arrange campus interviews for the final year students. The objective of placement and training at the University is to mould the students to meet the corporate expectation and place them in reputed companies based on the expected job profiles of each student.
