School of Engineering, Science and Primary Industries is a part of the Waikato Institute of Technology. The School offer a diverse and exciting range of programs which produce high level graduates who move on to stimulating and challenging careers within industry. Waikato Institute of Technology is one of New Zealand’s largest Institutes of Technology/Polytechnics (ITPs) and a leading provider of high quality, vocational and professional education in the Waikato region.
Wintec has a long history of delivering the former New Zealand Certificate in Engineering (NZCE) programs, and more recently the mechanical and civil engineering diplomas. These three programs are well recognised by industry, and graduates are highly sought after. Wintec has three main campuses, one with 24 hour computer and internet access and some of the best purpose-built training facilities in the country.
The School of Engineering, Science and Primary Industries campus is located at two campuses of Wintec are -
- City Campus - The Wintec's City Campus is centrally located, with shops, river, transport and cafes literally at student feet. It's a vibrant and energising environment with outstanding facilities for learning and support.
- Rotokauri Campus - The Wintec's Rotokauri Campus is set on a 56 hectare site about 10 minutes drive north of the central city. It has some of the best purpose built training facilities in New Zealand, including fully equipped trades workshops, animal handling, veterinary surgery, specialist training restaurant and kitchens, and sport science labs.
