The School of Social Development is part of the Waikato Institute of Technology. The School offers a range of programs which are designed to offer education and professional qualifications to people working in or wishing to work in the social services. Their school is committed to providing tertiary opportunities to both beginning and experienced practitioners in the social services.
Waiariki Institute of Technology is one of New Zealand’s largest Institutes of Technology/Polytechnics (ITPs) and a leading provider of high quality, vocational and professional education in the Waikato region. The institute offers a wide range of programs in engineering, science, accountancy, business management, secretarial, carpentry and building trades, including Māori pre-trade apprentices.
The School campus is located in two campuses of Waikato Institute of Technology are -
- Hamilton City Campus - In the heart of Hamilton City, the City Campus is only a few minutes walk to major shopping malls, banks, movies and restaurants. The City Transport Centre is only five minutes walk away. The main Wintec library and the Gallagher Hub are at the City Campus.
- Rotokauri Campus - The Rotokauri Campus is about 10 minutes drive north of the CBD and is set on 56 hectare site. It has some the best purpose built training facilities in New Zealand, including sport science labs, specialist training restaurant and kitchens and fully equipped trades workshops
