ABOUT SSCMS

The Sri Sri Centre for Media Studies, is a pioneering institution dedicated to catalyzing change in the media landscape. The 9 year old institute, located in the garden city of Bangalore aims to train students and turn them into talented media professionals, capable of positive social transformation. Media being the Fourth Estate has a vital role to play in shaping of a democracy like ours. Besides being an exciting profession, it also provides opportunity to serve society - highlighting the needs and aspirations of countless people who have otherwise no voice.

The dynamic, ever evolving and often stressful media industry demands professionals with finely honed skills and capabilities - communication skills that cut across media vehicles, logical thinking, a spirit of inquiry, fairness and most importantly belief in oneself to stand up for fairness and justice.

Sri Sri Centre for Media Studies recognizes that media at its noblest best is fact oriented, the PGD program of SSCMS too is designed to have as its core principle FACT, ie,. Fairness, Accuracy, Comprehensive, Truth. The comprehensive curriculum and intensive training at the institute is carefully designed with a three way focus: The student, Industry and Society. We recognize that today's student is tomorrow's successful journalist, capable of transforming society. Our curriculum aims to hone innate talent & dynamism, cultivate a spirit of enquiry, as well as equip the students with the skills as required by the industry.

• The current curriculum includes regular classes on personality and communication skills development. Our goal is to train graduates into well informed articulate professional journalists capable of working in print, broadcast and new media (web journalism)

PLACEMENTS

SSCMS provides placement assistance to students by methods such as organizing campus interviews with media houses and sending the resume of students directly to media houses. Only those students that perform well during the selection process will be placed with jobs.
