National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi was established in 2005. The University is recognized by the University Grants Commission under section 2(f) of the UGC Act. It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The main objects of the University are to advance and disseminate learning and knowledge of law and legal and judicial processes, professional legal education and their role in national development. NUALS has already entered into MOUs with Universities in Australia, France, Czech Republic and Switzerland and academic collaboration agreements with Universities in Belgium, UK and USA are being finalized.

The NUALS Campus is situated in a 10 acre plot at kinfra Hi-Tech Park at Kalamassery, Kochi, the industrial capital of Kerala and the seat of the Kerala high court.

The campus recruitment at NUALS is coordinated by the committee for campus recruitment (CCR). It is a body constituted and administered by members of the graduating batch. The emphasis that the University gives to interactive education is reflected in the quality of students who have proven themselves in varied areas such as moot courts, publications, debates, presentations, seminars and the likes.
