The New College, Chennai was established in 1951, is a Government-Aided Muslim minority College affiliated to the University of Madras. The college was founded by the Muslim Educational Association of Southern India (MEASI). The New College became autonomous in 2007, and it is recently re-accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ Grade. The New College has rigorously upheld commitment to providing quality higher education to the deserving students, especially from weaker sections of the society.
The vision of the institute is to set high standards of general, vocational and professional education, dissemination of learning and incessant search for new knowledge. The mission of the institute is to empower young men of the society to face the challenges of life such as competitiveness in the job market with courage and commitment by quality education and thereby inculcating in them secular values and emotional balance.
Campus of the New College -
The college campus is situated on Peter’s Road, Royapettah, Chennai; about 5000 students pursue their intellectual passion through more than 35 academic programs. The New college campus also houses three other institutions run by its parent body viz., MEASI Academy of Architecture, MEASI Institute of Management, and MEASI Institute of Information Technology.

Placement Cell at the New College -
The Career Guidance Cell at the New College functions under the direct control and directions of the principal of the college. The objective of the cell is to identify the talents available among the students of this college and nurture and harness them further and offer guidance to choose a bright and right career. The activities of the cell include collecting the database of the students and compiling them for use when needed.
