University Visveswaraya College of Engineering , popularly known as UVCE, is an engineering college affiliated to the Bangalore University, and is located in Bangalore, India. The college was established in the year 1917, by Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The college is approved by the AICTE and the Government of Karnataka. The departments are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi. The admission of students to the undergraduate courses is entirely on the basis of merit through the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the state government. The entrance to post-graduate courses is through the Graduate Degree basis, GATE and entrance test results.

At present, this is the only engineering college under the annals of the Bangalore University. UVCE has recently completed its glorious platinum jubilee. Equipped with modern laboratories and facilities, UVCE is known for its dedicated faculty as well as its progressive research and development activities. Every year, nearly 450 students graduate at the under-graduate level from five disciplines and are employed in reputed organisations. Among the various engineering colleges in Karnataka, UVCE was the earliest to have offered post-graduate courses.

Campus:-

At present, the UVCE is the only engineering college under the records of the Bangalore University. The campus has an academic sector equipped with modern laboratories and facilities. Then there is the residential area with hostels for both the boys and the girls. Then there are the playgrounds and spaces where events and functions keep on happening from time to time. UVCE is situated at KR Circle and in the neighborhood of Vidhana Soudha, Government of Karnataka, with a campus area spreading over 15 acres, housing in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics andComputer Science Engineering.

Students have been selected by leading organizations that include a large number of multi-national and Indian companies such as Infosys, IBM, Talisma, Honeywell, TCS, Bluestar Infotech,Digital Global Soft,Future Technologies,SLK Software,Oracle Corp.,Satyam Computers, Huawei Tech.,Mindtree Consultants, Aditi Technologies, L&T(ECC), J.Ray McDermott(USA), Wipro Technologies to name a few.....
