University of Wurzburg was established in 1402, for the first time today offers more than 100 fields of study in the humanities and social sciences, the natural and life sciences, medicine, and in selected areas of engineering science in which their students are prepared for a variety of career fields. After a short-lived first foundation of 1402, Julius-Maximilians-University was founded in 1582 on the initiative of the Prince Bishop Julius Echter of Mespelbrunn and furnishings.
Today, the University of Würzburg's medium-sized universities in Germany. About 400 professors make in ten faculty from more than 24,000 students. The Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg is an internationally renowned university with a broad range of subjects.
The main task of the university is to coordinate closely their teaching to the current research. Their students work together with proven research personalities and contribute to completion, master's and doctoral work in itself to the research. A goal of the University is to strengthen the interdisciplinary collaboration to edit exciting questions between different areas of knowledge. The JMU continues with continuous quality improvement processes in an interdisciplinary and sustainably for their academic development.
