Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai established in 1887, it was then known as Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute. The institute is reputed for excellent training in courses in engineering and technology at diploma, degree and post graduate levels over three thousand students. The institute was granted financial and academic autonomy from June 21, 2004. The revised scheme of examinations, which follows a grading system and letter grade point system, has been implemented.

Their vision is to establish global leadership in the field of Technology and develop competent human resources for providing service to society. Their mission is to provide students with comprehensive knowledge of principles of engineering with a multi-disciplinary approach that is challenging and to create an intellectually stimulating environment for research, scholarship, creativity, innovation and professional activity.

Campus -

VJTI covers a sixteen acre campus at a prime location at Matunga. It is easily accessible by both rail and road. The area is a hub of prestigious educational institutions including St. Joseph High School, MUICT, Don Bosco High School and Khalsa College. The Center for Industrial Research in Cotton Technology is located nearby.
