About WLCI

WLC College India was founded in the year 1996 with the objective of bringing world class education to students in India. Over the last 18 years the college has continuously evolved in response to the requirements of employers and the needs of the students.

The College is the front runner in offering a comprehensive skill development curriculum which is the need of the hour. It has acquired an enviable reputation in the Indian industry for its high quality of training. The industry integrated training has enabled students to use it as a stepping stone for their careers. Today WLCI operates out of 10 Campuses spread across major cities of the sub continent and offers professional courses in Business, Fashion, Graphic Design and Media. The courses have been designed after extensive research in the industry to ensure that these cater to development of skills that are valuable to employers.

WLCI has worked closely with the Industry to redefine its professional training in order to make it more relevant to the requirements of employers and more rewarding for the students. The curriculum has been modeled closely to the actual business requirement and the content has been structured to map the real business processes and develop competencies to match the industry requirements. In keeping with the objective of ensuring that the students become highly competent professionals, WLCI employs only experienced professionals with a successful track record to train, coach and mentor the students. These professionals are adept in enhancing the Industry preparedness of the students to increase the students' employability in the industry.

At WLCI, it is believed that learning must not only take place in the class room, but also simultaneously at the work place. Its unique Traineeship Programme offers the students an opportunity to work with the best in the industry in their chosen profession. Through the Traineeship program, students are given an opportunity to gain valuable practical insight of their class-room learning alongside the course. This helps in shaping the professional skills of our student trainees and fully equips them to take on the challenges of the work-place even before completing the course. WLCI training also focuses on developing the right beliefs and values, identify life, career & learning goals and create a road map to achieve these goals. It helps the students to channelise their capabilities and peak up their performance in the industry. WLCI skills development curriculum is beyond the conventional education which aims at creating professional skills in the students, enabling them to be 'Achievers' in the corporate world. Selection Process

This is a six part process to assess the candidates' suitability for the program. The candidates are assessed for their current level of skills to determine their ability to cope with the programme. In addition to this, it also provides valuable inputs to the candidates’ personality profile, thus enabling the interviewers to counsel the applicants about their chosen professional path. This process also creates an initial benchmark of basic skills which is used to provide inputs to each applicant that are useful for their future development.

For Business Programmes

The Selection Process consists of a comprehensive evaluation of the candidate through a series of tests and a personal interview as under:-

  • Personality Assessment Test: The selection process begins with a psychometric test to identify candidates’ personality traits and interest areas. The test report helps determine the profession/sub profession best suited for the candidate and where he/ she is most likely to succeed in the professional career.
  • Communication Ability Test: It evaluates candidates’ proficiency in English communication skills, which includes reading, writing and speaking skills. Since the communication skills status is an important aspect to determine the candidates' employability in the industry, its assessment inputs are vital to decide on their traineeship category.
  • IQ Test: The test is designed to measure the students' brainpower and cognitive ability. It evaluates the students' ability to comprehend simple mathematical equations, analogies, patterns and visualizations etc. It follows the standard norms to judge the candidates' IQ.
  • General Knowledge Test: It assesses the candidate' general awareness of various aspects including Geography, History, Politics, Science and literature etc. It also evaluates his/her knowledge of current events.
  • Personal Interview: The personal interview is a detailed assessment of candidates' suitability to join the course. He / She is assessed on Competence, Focus Energy, basic knowledge of management and clarity of thought. During the personal interview, the above mentioned test results, especially the psychometric test report are discussed with the candidate along with his/her suitability for a profession and the traineeship category he/she is placed in.
  • Post Interview Counselling: At the stage, the candidate is given detailed information on the career pathways, fee structure and the fee payment plan. The candidate is also given an opportunity to clarify any doubt regarding the course and the institute.
