The Beginning

XIME was established in 1991 by a group of distinguished academicians under the leadership of Prof. J. Philip, former Director of IIM, Bangalore. XIME is located in the heart of Electronics City, the Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore with IT icons such as Hewlett Packard, Infosys, TCS and Wipro as its neighbors. The campus vibrates with myriad activities such as conventions, conferences, student competitions, short-term industry relevant programs and cultural activities, along with excellent co-curricular activities.

The institute

XIME is today a global brand and hosts regular international events in collaboration with ten partner institutions around the globe, including strong student exchange programmes, faculty exchange programmes and international study tours for its students.

Personalized attention to student development is a key tenet in XIME. The curricular at the institute is regularly requirements. XIME has a diverse faculty group, with good representation from senor positions in industry and civil services as well. The institute can boast virtually full and high quality placements in all the years. Admission Information

Eligibility
Candidates for XIME’s Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) are required to have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks for all subjects taken together (45% for SC/ST candidates). Candidates who are appearing for their final year examination and are awaiting their results may also apply. They should have maintained an average of 50% marks in the degree course until that time. They should be completing all their degree examinations before June 15, 2013. Such candidates are required to provide proof of passing the degree examination with the minimum required marks of 50% latest by September 29, 2013.

XIME Application Form and Programme Brochure may be obtained from XIME on payment of Rs.1250/- in cash or DD favoring ‘XIME Bangalore’ payable at Bangalore. The application form can also be obtained from designated IMS Learning Centers or T.I.M.E Centers. Application form can also be filled online via www.shiksha.com.
Alternatively, the application form can be downloaded from the XIME website www.xime.org. Downloaded form may be filled in and sent along with the registration fee of Rs.1250/- in the form of a DD favoring ‘XIME Bangalore’. Issue of application form begins on October 31, 2012.

• Registration for XIME Admission
• Applicants desirous of joining XIME need to obtain the prescribed application form and register for admission.
• They should have appeared for the XAT admission test conducted by XLRI.
• In the absence of XAT score, Cat score will also be considered in lieu of.
• CMAT score published in October 2012 will also be considered in lieu of XAT.
• Applicants should indicate the XAT/CAT/CMAT score for the year in the application form (if score is received by then). If score is not received at the time of filling in the application, a copy of the score card must be sent by email/post within a week from the announcement of result of these tests or to reach XIME latest by February 28, 203. Otherwise the application will not be considered.

The Campus

XIME has a beautifully landscaped campus spanning 4.3 acres, located in Electronics City, the hub of the IT capital - Bangalore. The presence of reputed companies such as GE, HP, Infosys, Siemens, TCS, Wipro and Tata BP Solar in the vicinity helps to improve the industry-institution interaction. The carefully designed and built campus is equipped with high-tech infrastructure and modern facilities. XIME is one of the few management institutes outside the IIMs that offer a completely residential programme.

Well Stocked Library

The library, located in the western wing of the central courtyard offers:

• Library management System to help in easy search and location of books
• A wide range of intellectual material from archives and books to magazines, newspapers, audio-video cassettes and CDs
• A collection of over 17,500 books
• Large number of magazines and journals, both national and international, numbering over 180
• Online databases – EBSCO and Indianjournals.com
• Bound volumes of a number of national and international magazines/journals collected over the years
• Internet access, image scanning and CD recording of material in the audio-video reference section

Computer Facilities

The Computing facilities include fully wired computer LAN with over 200 PCs equipped with software for creating presentations, data analysis, word processing, image capture and modification, statistical analysis and multimedia activity. The PCs are networked to multiple servers. Students have dedicated folder space in the server. The networked facilities include software development kits, RDBMS and centralized scanning and printing.
The Computer Centre is equipped with:

• Latest servers and PCs as nodes, connected on a Windows Server platform

XIME has played to students and faculty groups from institutes such as University of Redlands (USA), La Salle University (USA), Milano-Bicocca (Italy), St.Thomas University, Mexico and University of Akron (USA). In continuation of a tradition that has been established, a number of XIME students attend classes at partner institutions abroad.

International Summer Placement

Keeping in view the mission of giving its studens international exposure, XIME regularly sends its students abroad for international summer placements. University of Redlands, Calofornia hosted students from XIME for summer projects when XIME students worked on different projects for the University of Redlands. In Gerany, they had interships ar organizations such as Hypovereinz Bank, Permatech, Nobiscum and Sparkasse Bank. The Wuerzburg Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences, Germany played host to these students. Negocial/Advancis B-Schools had also arranged summer projects for our students.

Association of BRICS Business Schools

XIME, Bangalore has once again enhanced its image as an outward-oriented institution. During January 30 and 31, 2009, XIME drew to its campus a gathering of prominent academicians and leaders of B-Schools from the BRICS countries – Brazil, Russia, China and South Africa – for the historic formation of the Association of BRICS Business Schools (ABBS), heralding a new global partnership in management education . This was the culmination of the BRICS B-Schools meet hosted by XIME, Bangalore in January 2008, followed by conferences held in Shanghai in April and Moscow in October 2008. XIME hosted a BRICS Students meet at Bangalore during March 22 to 25, 2010. Guangdong University, Guangzhou, China hosted the next BRICS Students meet during March 26 to 28, 2011.
It was a matter of pride for XIME that Prof. J. Philip, President of the Institute, was unanimously elected as the first President of this newly founded intercontinental B-Schools Association of Indian management Schools (AIMS), besides being a co-founder of the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia. Prof.Xu Erming of Renmin University, Benjing is now the president of Association of BRICS Business Schools.

The Institute has an active student placement programme. Through its placement Cell, it provides direction and support to students who are eligible for placement. All through the years, it has succeeded in maintaining an excellent record. The institute is proud of its record of 100% placement since its inception except in the difficult year of 2009. The Placement in 2012 was excellent. A number of top companies visited the campus for placement. 95% of student from the batch passing out in 2012 were been placed. The average salary in 2012 was Rs.6.25 lakh with a maximum of Rs.9 lakhs.
