M.Tech. Aerospace Engineering - Stands for Master of Technology in Aerospace Engineering. Typically, a M.Tech. is for two years, minimum eligibility for which is a B.E. or B.tech in Aerospace Engineering. Aerospace Engineering focuses on the designing, construction, development, testing, operation and maintenance of both commercial and military aircraft, spacecrafts and their components as well as satellites and missiles. Subjects usually studied under this degree are Academic Writing Research, Intro Engineering, Aerodynamics, Introduction to Computing-FORTRAN, Aerospace Structure, Computing Environment, Physics Engineering, Aerospace Vehicle Design, Engineer Dynamics, Engineering Statics and Propulsion etc.

Basic Eligibility

 

The eligibility criteria for pursuing a master’s degree are holding a bachelor's degree in (B.E/B.Tech) or any other equivalent branches of engineering. The duration for this course is 2 years.

Job Prospects

Aeronautical engineers often work for large aviation companies like Airbus, Boeing and even NASA. These companies are constantly seeking trained engineers. In India aeronautical engineers are mostly employed by ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) and the Defense Ministry. One can also look for jobs available with the Civil Aviation Department, National Aeronautical Laboratory, Defense Research and Development Laboratories (DRDO) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

Remuneration: -

Engineers employed in government sectors are paid according to the official scales whereas in private sectors are paid according to the scales decided by the management of the company. The estimated initial salary in government/public sectors such as HAL, NAL are Rs. 8,000 to Rs.10, 000 without other allowances. Graduates working in private sectors can earn around Rs. 9,000 to Rs. 15,000 every month plus perks. Engineering graduates with management degrees can get their initial income between Rs.10, 000 to Rs. 40,000 every month. Skilled professionals working in airline industries can get fringe benefits of free travel for self and family also, apart from numerous other perks.
