DU's Faculty of Management Studies to use CAT scores for admission

Published On: 18 Sep 2014 | Last Updated On: 18 Sep 2014

The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) of Delhi University (DU) will use the scores of the Common Admission Test 2014 (CAT 2014) for 2015-17 admissions to its two-year full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. FMS has 216 seats for the MBA program.

Shortlisted candidates will also be called for a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) round.

The final selection will be based on the cumulative performance of the candidate in the CAT examination, GD and PI as well as previous work experience and academic profile.

The admission calendar for MBA at FMS will be released shortly. Only online applications will be accepted.

As FMS will be using CAT 2014 scores to short-list candidates for its MBA 2015-17 program, DU will not conduct any separate entrance test for admission. The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) do not have any role in the selection process of FMS or in delivering the MBA program.

Candidates need to note that CAT 2014 will be conducted on Sunday, November 16 and Saturday, November 22, 2014 (forenoon and afternoon sessions on both days). The result is expected to be announced in the third week of December, 2014. The online registration process for the examination started on Wednesday, August 6 and will continue for 56 days till 11.59 pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2014. CAT is the entrance test for admission into the IIMs and other premier business schools (B-schools) in India. IIM Indore will be the convener of CAT 2014.

FMS was established in 1954 under the umbrella of DU. The institute offers various part-time and full-time MBA programs. The institute reported 100% placements for the class of 2014.
