| Dhwani, the annual cultural fest of St. Joseph's College of Commerce (SJCC) has continually proved to be one among the most impeccably organized cultural fests in Bangalore. It has been successfully carried out for the past 10 years. Dhwani - 2008 was held from the 18th - 19th of January and was inaugurated by Karnataka Lok Ayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde.The theme for Dhwani - 2008 was centered on ancient India. The rustic look and rich heritage was brought to life within the SJCC premises. Through this the college stressed upon the diverse Indian culture ranging from the period of the Aryans all the way down to the Mughals within the competitions itself.Dhwani – 2008 saw a participation of approximately 35 colleges and 2000 visitors a day. As customary to all SJCC fests, Dhwani - 2008 attached itself to a social cause and used itself to create awareness and to provide relief by any means to the cause. This year’s cause was to provide an opportunity to 5 state schools to compete at the inter-school cultural level where their talents will be showcased. The highlight or finale of Dhwani - 2008 was a musical event by two of Bangalore’s favorite college rock bands Haven and Fahrenheit. A treasure hunt spanning a radius of 10 km around SJCC was also held. |
