Can I apply Online?

Yes. Applications can be found and completed online at the official BITS website.
The candidate is required to take a printout of the completed application form and send it along with a fees of Rs.1000(Rs.500 for female applicants)  to the Admissions Officer, BITS, Pilani-333031.Details for payment of fees is available while applying online.

Can I obtain application form by post?

Application forms can be obtained by post from the Admissions Officer,BITS, Pilani-333031 until 21 January,2010 by sending a request on plain paper along with details like the candidate's Name, Gender, Complete postal address along with a crossed demand draft of Rs.1100(Rs.600 for girls) drawn in favor of Birla Institute of Technology & Science payable either at State Bank of India, Pilani(Code:11309) or State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, Pilani(Code:10398).

When is the last date to apply for BITSAT 2010?

Deadline to apply for BITSAT-2010 by submitting the completed form to the Admissions Office, BITS Pilani  is 5.00 PM on 30th January 2010.  

BITSAT 2010 eligibilty criteria

Students who are appearing for 12th examination in 2010 or who have passed 12th Examination in 2009 only are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2010 test. If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in 12th class or its equivalent, only his latest performance is considered, provided this attempt has been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed. Students who have passed 12th examination in 2008 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT-2010. Students who are presently studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible to appear in BITSAT-2010. For admission into B.E. in any of the 3 BITS campuses, Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Further the candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 80% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects and should have adequate proficiency in English.

To be eligible for admission under the 'Direct admission to Board toppers' scheme, the candidate should be the topper from the science stream having taken Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics subjects in 12th.

I have taken Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 10+2.Am I Eligible to Apply for BITSAT.

For BITSAT 2010 Candidates should have taken Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics(PCM) in 10+2.

I have completed the online application. But, I have not taken a print out. How can I get a print out now?

You can go to the applying online page again and enter the personal details AND the application number. You will be taken to the printout page again. If you have forgotten your application number, you will have to register afresh and obtain a new application number.

I have made a mistake while entering some data in my application form. How can I edit/correct it?

If you have not posted the form, apply afresh with another application number. If you have already sent the form by post to admissions office, You cannot edit it Online. If the mistake is minor, you can send a written signed request for the correction. However, if you want to change the center preferences, you will have to apply afresh with a new application fees.

My 12th exam results are not expected before 30th June. Should I apply for BITSAT-2010?

For admissions to I semester staring in August, you should have your result before 30th June. Otherwise, we make a few admissions to II semester starting in January for which you can apply. Keeping that in mind, you may appear in BITSAT-2010.

I passed 12th in 2009. I didn't get 80% aggregate in PCM .Am I eligible if I repeat some of the subjects to get the required 80% marks?

If you are repeating 12th exam, you should do it for the all the subjects required to pass 12th again. If you take improvement exams in PCM subjects only, you are not eligible.

What is the application procedure for NRI's and candidates with foreign qualifications?

There is no separate procedure for NRIs or foreign students. They have to apply similar to Indian students.

I am a first rank student of my respective Central/State board exam. How do I gain admission into BITS?

Toppers of all Indian Central or State level Board exams will be given direct admission into a course of their choice irrespective of their score in BITSAT 2010. To be eligible for admission under the 'Direct admission to Board toppers' scheme, the candidate should be the topper from the science stream having taken Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics subjects in 12th. Applicants under the scheme should attach documentary proof in support of their claim, along with the 12th mark sheet and a letter from the Board declaring the candidate as the topper in the specified stream.

How am I Eligible for admission to M.Sc.(Hons.) and M.Sc.(Tech.) programmes after 12th?

The M.Sc.(Hons.) and M.Sc.(Tech.) programmes are integrated 4-year masters programme after 12th. There is no intermediate BSc. degrees awarded.

I have passed 12th in the year 2008 (or earlier). I am now doing my higher studies (BSc/BE/diploma) in another college. Can I apply for BITSAT-2010?
