Application procedure Checklist 
Before posting the application please Ensure that :
You have read the instructions carefully.
You have used a black ball-point pen to enter the codes in the boxes and pencil to shade the alphabet / numeral / circle as indicated.
You have affixed a good quality recent, colour photograph in the space provided.
You have pasted a photograph without attestation.
You have clearly and legibly written your complete postal address to which the communication is to be sent. You have entered your correct PINCODE.
You have indicated your correct STD code and Phone No. / Mobile No.
You have mentioned your correct e-mail address.
You have signed in the space provided below the photograph and in the declaration form. Your parent / guardian has signed the declaration form.
You have had your application attested in the space provided.
You have not used any pins or stapler in your application.
You have clearly indicated whether you require hostel accommodation or not.
You have entered the correct Test City Code on the envelope provided.
You have retained a photocopy of your application.
How do I obtain an application form?
- Candidates can also obtain the application form through post by sending a Demand Draft for Rs.750/ drawn in favour of VIT University, payable at Vellore, with a covering letter addressed to the Admissions Officer, VIT University, Vellore 632014, requesting for the application form and indicating their complete postal address. On receipt of the DD, the application form with the enclosures will be sent by post. The postal charges will be borne by the Institute. Candidates should write their name and address on the reverse of the DD.
- The main brochure and the information brochure for the B.Tech. programme 2009, along with the necessary enclosures which include the Application Form and a printed self addressed envelope, can be obtained against cash payment of Rs.750/- from the various post offices as mentioned at the official VIT website.
- Candidates can obtain the application form in person from the VIT University at Vellore or from the Administrative Office, New No. 6, (Old No. W-73), Second Street (Opposite Towers Club), Anna Nagar, Chennai 600 040 (Phone: 044 42016555, 65480555, Fax: 044-26222555), by handing over a Demand Draft for Rs.750/- drawn in favour of VIT University, payable at Vellore.
What should be the Eligibilty and age criteria of the candidate to be eligible for VITEEE? 
Eligibility: A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum average of 60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB). Candidates appearing for the 10+2 examination in the current year are also eligible to apply. Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) candidates are eligible for all the programmes. Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) candidates are eligible only for B.Tech. Bioinformatics, Biotechnology & Biomedical Engineering programmes.
AGE: Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1987 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2009. The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / 10th Certificate will be considered authentic. Candidates should produce this certificate in original as a proof of their age, at the time of counselling, failing which they will be disqualified.
Can I have the model of question paper of VITEEE?
Yes. You can send a DD for Rs.100/- in favour of VIT University, payable at Vellore along with a self addressed A4 size envelope with Rs.25/- stamp affixed, along with a covering letter to the Admissions Officer, VIT University, Vellore-632 014.
What should I do if I do not receive the VITEEE admit card by the time of the examination? 
In case you do not receive the Admit Card by 31st of March 2009, you should make it a point to report the same immediately to the Admissions Officer.
If you still do not receive the Admit Card before the examination date, he / she would have to meet VIT Representative one day before the examination at the center with a copy of the application form and two attested pass-port size photographs, identical to the one affixed in the application form. All queries pertaining to the Admit Card without mentioning application number will not be entertained under any circumstances.
How will I know if my application is received at VIT? 
For the benefit of the candidates, the following arrangements have been made to enable the students to know the status of the application.
Once the application is received at VIT, a message will be sent by SMS to the candidate stating that the application has been received at VIT. This would however be possible only if the mobile number is correctly shaded in the application form. The candidates may also track the status of their application by typing their application number in the VIT website. However, this feature can be availed of only after about 2 weeks of dispatch of the application.
After applying can I request for change of center? 
Once the center is allotted, the change of center will not be entertained, under any circumstances.
I have opted for Physics, Chemistry and Biology in +2. For which branches of B.Tech. am I eligible to seek admission, if I qualify in VITEEE? 
You will be eligible only for 3 B.Tech. Programmes:
1) Bioinformatics 2) Biotechnology and 3) Bio-Medical Engineering .
I have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, in +2. Which branches in B.Tech. Am I eligible to seek admission to, if I qualify in VITEEE? 
You are eligible for all the 12 B.Tech. programmes.
I have secured 58% in PCM / PCB in qualifying examination, but in 2009 I am appearing for the Improvement Examination, Can I apply? 
Yes, you can apply, but at the time of counselling you should produce the proof that you have secured 60% in PCM / PCB.
I have secured 60% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination, but I have not secured 60% in PCM / PCB, am I eligible for VITEEE? 
Sorry, you are not eligible.
I scored a very high percentage in my qualifying +2 examination. Will this be taken into consideration for my admission into VIT or will this be considered on par with my marks scored in VITEEE for admission? 
Your admission into B.Tech. will be based purely on your merit in the VITEEE.
How can I know about the VITEEE Results? 
The entrance examination results will be available in the following websites: www.vit.ac.in , www.globalinfowings.com , www.indiaresults.com & www.mysuccess.in
On what basis will the merit list be prepared? 
The merit list will be prepared purely based on the marks scored by the candidates in VITEEE. We take into account only the VITEEE scores and not that of any other national/state level entrance tests.
Does the University offer any scholarships to meritorious candidates? 
Yes,First 50 candidates of VITEEE-2009 from Tamil Nadu who join VIT University will get a scholarship of Rs.25,000/- each. First 50 candidates of VITEEE-2009 from other states who join VIT University will also get a scholarship of Rs.25,000/- each.
Is there any special fee concession for the toppers in H.Sc. examination? 
The first rank holder as certified by the respective State in the qualifying examination from each state, in the event of being selected for the B.Tech. Degree Programme will be offered a complete waiver of Tuition Fee in the first year and a waiver of Rs.25,000/- per year from the second year onwards.
May I know about the hostel accommodation and the facilities available in the campus? 
We have separate hostels for both boys and girls inside the campus. For hostel fee details you can refer the information brochure. The other facilities like, Banks/ ATM, Post Office, Cafeteria and Departmental Stores etc., all are also available inside the campus.
How do I get to the University? How far is it from the railway station? 
VIT is located on the main road from Tiruvalam to Katpadi. VIT is about 120kms from Chennai.
By rail you can reach VIT by alighting at Katpadi railway junction. VIT University is just 2 kms from the Katpadi Railway Station (You can hire autos to reach easily).
