IIT Kanpur taps into solar energy plant to power the campus

One of the premier technical institutes in the country, IIT-Kanpur is now in the process of commissioning a 1,750 kilowatt roof-top solar power plant. It had set up a 50 kilowatt solar power plant on the institute campus earlier. The reports have mentioned that the project would be done in two phases. In the initial phase, a solar plant of 350 kw capacity will be set up. This will take nearly six months. The second phase will be taken up later. New VIT University to come up near Bangalore by 2015

Renowned Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University will now reportedly expand its operation and will soon open a private university near Bangalore in Karnataka.
