For which colleges and programs is the IIFT required for admissions?

IIFT exam is a mandatory admissions criterion for admission to MBA in International Business program offered at the IIFT New Delhi and Kolkata campuses.

What is the MBA (IB) program?

The MBA (IB) is a general management course with special emphasis on International Business. This means, besides doing a general MBA (as is done in other B-Schools), IIFT students are exposed to the international perspectives of various subjects by virtue of their doing courses like international marketing, international finance, international strategy and international brand management.

What are the specializations offered in the MBA (IB) program at IIFT?

The first year, consisting of three trimesters, is a core course which encompasses all the basic functional areas of management. In the third trimester students are taught the nuances of international aspects of these functional areas. The second year is when students get to choose their preferred area of specialization viz. marketing, finance, trading or systems and IT.

Are there any eligibility requirements to sit for the IIFT 2014?

  • The candidates’ should have a recognized bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration. Candidates appearing for a qualifying examination can also apply subject to submission of proof of requisite qualification by 7th October 2014.
  • There is no age limit for appearing for the IIFT exam.

How is IIFT 2014 designed?

The duration of the IIFT examination is of 2 hours and the written exam will be a multiple choice objective type. The mode of IIFT exam is English with questions from the following areas:

IIFT exam will be held at Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubeneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Hydrabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Visakhapatnam.

What is the entrance procedure for admission to MBA (IB) at IIFT?

The entrance procedure is a 3-stage process: First is the written test covering areas of Quantitative Ability, Logic and Reasoning, English etc. The short-listed people will then have to appear for the Group Discussions, Essay Writing and Personal Interviews.

I am a foreign national. Can I apply for MBA (IB) program at IIFT?

Seats are reserved for foreign nationals, NRIs and children of NRIs and the admission is considered on the basis of General Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) score of which should not have been declared before 1st January 2012 and should be received by the Institute latest by 31st March 2014.

In which centers will IIFT conduct its GD and PI?

Based on the marks of written test, a limited number of candidates will be invited for second phase of selection process comprising group discussion, essay writing and interview to be held at Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai. IIFT reserves the right to add/delete any centre, if required.

What is the procedure for applying to IIFT?

Candidates can follow either of the two methods:

 

  • Online Applications: Candidates need to visit IIFT website at www.iift.edu and click on the ‘Admissions 2014’ icon and fill in the online form as per details given in website.
  • Offline Applications: The candidates who bought the prospectus in cash or through demand draft need to complete the enclosed application form and send the same by speed post/registered post/courier to the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, B-21, Qutab Institutional Area, and New Delhi-110016 so as to reach IIFT on or before specified date.
