Admissions for integrated BTech courses in Andhra Pradesh IIITs or Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies will be conducted on July 26 and 27, 2012. Higher education department released the list of qualified candidates. A sum of Rs 1800 crores have been assigned for overhauling the infrastructure in the 3 university campuses located in Nuzivid, RK Valley and Basar.

A total of 3000 seats are available out of which 2807 will be filled by rural students while 193 seats will be reserved for physically disabled students. The admissions to the institute will be based on the merit list prepared by granting 0.4% marks to the GPA (Grade Point Average) secured by rural area students.

The admissions were put on hold by the university this year as the SSC board had implemented grading system for the first time. The additional 0.4% score which was assigned to rural students, known as additional deprivation score aims at balancing the socio-economic backwardness.

Under the region-wise reservation norms, 1002 seats will be reserved for Andhra University students, 859 for Osmania University students and 525 for SV university students. Out of the total students who got through the list, 50.30% were female candidates while remaining were boys.

However, as per the university norms, 88% seats are reserved for rural students and 12% seats for merit holders. Sources revealed that university will appoint faculties at the campuses in different phases.
