The application of science and engineering to the exploration and utilization of outer space is called space technology. The various sub-branches of space science are astronomy, astrophysics, cosmology, stellar science, planetary science etc. With the development of space technology in 50 years since independence, India has an impressive array of technological achievements to showcase in this field.
