B.Tech. Aerospace Engineering - Stands for Bachelor of Technology Aerospace Engineering. Typically, a B.Tech. is for four years, minimum eligibility for which is an intermediate (10 + 2) in science. Subjects usually studied under this degree are Academic Writing Research, Intro Engineering, Aerodynamics, Introduction to Computing-FORTRAN, Aerospace Structure, Computing Environment, Physics Engineering,Aerospace Vehicle Design, Engineer Dynamics, Engineering Statics, Propulsion etc.

Basic Eligibility

 

For admission in a bachelor’s degree, the candidate must have passed the higher secondary school certificate (10+2) examination with science subject such as biology, maths and chemistry. For IITs, It is mandatory to qualify in the Joint Entrance Examinations (J.E.E).  The duration for this course is 4 years.

Job Prospects

Aeronautical engineers often work for large aviation companies like Airbus, Boeing and even NASA. These companies are constantly seeking trained engineers. In India aeronautical engineers are mostly employed by ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) and the Defense Ministry. One can also look for jobs available with the Civil Aviation Department, National Aeronautical Laboratory, Defense Research and Development Laboratories (DRDO) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

Aerospace engineers are in great need in aircraft industrialized divisions, airline industries and air turbine production plants or designs. They can also seek employment in different areas such as design, development, and maintenance as well as in the managerial and teaching jobs in institutes. This is an incredibly well paid job but it is also very demanding. In future the demand for aerospace engineers will rise because of their requirement in various sectors. Remuneration: -

Engineers employed in government sectors are paid according to the official scales whereas in private sectors are paid according to the scales decided by the management of the company. The estimated initial salary in government/public sectors such as HAL, NAL are Rs. 8,000 to Rs.10, 000 without other allowances. Graduates working in private sectors can earn around Rs. 9,000 to Rs. 15,000 every month plus perks. Engineering graduates with management degrees can get their initial income between Rs.10, 000 to Rs. 40,000 every month. Skilled professionals working in airline industries can get fringe benefits of free travel for self and family also, apart from numerous other perks.
