Accenture with its 1/3rd employee-base in India is planning to recruit aggressively this year too for its new offices in Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai and Pune. The company has acquired office spaces each ranging between 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh sft in these cities.
Nearly 2000 people can be accommodated in an office of 2 lakh sft space. Most of the new recruits appointed will include laterals with skills in CRM, Enterprise application integration (EAI), ERP, application development, application maintenance, KPO/BPO, IT infrastructure, project management, consulting, telecom application, program management, practice management, delivery management and business analysis.
Accenture started recruiting students from campus in India just a few years ago. Around 6000-7000 freshers hired from campus will be joining the company this year. India currently forms the largest employee base for Accenture with total count expected to go beyond 80000 by August this year.
Accenture has nearly 35000 employees in Philippines and about 40,000 in the US. The number of employees in India has more than doubled in last 5-years (from 35,000 in 2007 to 80,000 in August 2012). The total number of employees across the globe at Accenture is 251000, higher than 243545 employees of TCS.
The company has its offices at Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bangalore. Pune because of its educational ecosystem, pleasant weather, proximity to Mumbai and large talent pool is the next city on the expansion pool of the company.
Accenture is a global company with its incorporation in Ireland and is listed in the US. A Frenchman is currently heading the company as CEO.
Accenture is gradually tapping the Indian market. The company registered outsourcing revenues of $3.19 billion (on sum of $7.15 billion revenue) which is 16% more. It has been seeking business in the government and corporate verticals of India. In governmental vertical it has it has introduced the core biometric identification system for the UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India). Currently it is working India Post on an IT modernization project.
