The premier Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM Lucknow) has accomplished 100% summer placements for its students, with global offers pouring in as well. The placement drive for IIM Lucknow’s 30th batch was participated by 464 students and 164 domestic as well as international recruiters.
The leading recruiters from across diverse sectors included Amazon, Accenture, Aditya Birla Group, MH Alshaya, Flipkart, Cipla, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, Hindustan Unilever, P&G, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Wipro, etc. Moreover, top-notch firms such as JP Morgan, Alvarez & Marsal, four Indian private equity firms and one international mutual fund organization took part in the placements as well.
In the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Telecom domains, the top players were Asian Paints, Coke, Airtel, Colgate Palmolive, GSK Consumer, Dabur, Hindustan Unilever, Kellogg's, ITC, Mondelez, Mars, Marico, Pepsi, Vodafone and Reckitt Benckiser. Along with the conventional roles in Sales & Marketing, these companies made offers in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Information Technology (IT), Analytics and Human Resource (HR) roles. The leading hirer in the segment was P&G, which opened the most number of profiles this placement season.
In the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector, firms that made their presence felt were JP Morgan (for its front-end markets profile), American Express, BNP Paribas, Avendus Capital, Citibank, Deutsche Bank, DBS, Edelweiss, HSBC, Goldman Sachs, ICICI Bank, Karvy, India Quotient Fund, Multiples Alternate Asset Management, Nomura, Macquarie, Indus Way Private Equity, Standard Chartered, etc.
From the Consulting sector, the key players were Accenture, AT Kearney, Alvarez & Marsal, BCG, McKinsey and Deloitte, which jointly made 37 offers. BCG and McKinsey were the top hirers.
In General Management, Aditya Birla Group (ABG), RIL, Mahindra & Mahindra, TAS, etc. were prominent, with ABG being the top recruiter.
In the IT, Technology and E-commerce sectors, firms such as Amazon, Cognizant, Capgemini, eBay, HCL, Flipkart, Wipro and Taxiforsure.com deserve mention. Roles offered included ones in IT, Systems, Sales Enablement, Supply Chain Management, Business Development, Product Marketing, Program Management, Strategic Alliances and Analytics.
From the Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare sector, the top recruiters included Bristol-Myers Squibb, Cipla, Boehringer Ingelheim, GSK Pharma, Novartis, J&J Pharma, etc. These firms offered roles in Sales & Marketing, Operations, Finance, General Management and Market Research.
This year, placements in the Social Impact and Education domains are a significant addition to the summer placement portfolio of IIM Lucknow students. Altogether 14 firms offered such positions, including many first-time recruiters (from any campus). Such firms offered roles in Sales & Marketing, Finance, Market Research, IT, Business Development, Policy Research as well as Project Implementation.
Earlier this year, the final placement session too at IIM Lucknow had concluded on a happy note on Friday, February 7, 2014, with a total of 440 placement offers being made by 207 firms to 436 students of the Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP) batch.
