The online application submission process of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2015 (GATE 2015) will close on Tuesday, October 14, 2014. The deadline was extended from the previously scheduled Wednesday, October 1, 2014, due to the flood situation in the areas of Jammu and Kashmir. The registrations had started from Monday, September 1, 2014.
According to the website, candidates need to complete their application/payment submission process to avoid last minute rush and subsequent internet traffic. Those candidates who have defects marked in their application should rectify the defects immediately.
Candidates need to visit the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) website for Enrolment, Application Filling and Application Submission. The registrations and the examination itself will be conducted only on the online mode. The entire process of filling up of application form, uploading of certificates/documents including photograph, eligibility proof, proof of category for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Persons with Disabilities (SC/ST/PwD), etc., will be online and the candidates should not send any hard copy of their application form/documents, etc., to any of the zonal GATE offices.
The payment of application fees will also be online through different modes such as internet-banking, debit/ATM/credit card and e-challan.
The application fee is Rs 1,500 for General and Other Backward Classes (OBC) male candidates, while it is Rs 750 for female candidates. The fees are Rs 750 for the SC/ST/PwD category candidates. The application fee can be paid either online or through e-challan via State Bank of India or Axis Bank (additional bank charges may apply). The application fee is non-refundable.
After the candidates make the payment once, they have to allow some time for the payment to appear in the GATE application. Extra payment made by the candidates, if any, will be refunded after Tuesday, October 14, 2014 (after the last date of application submission).

The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) is the organizing institute of GATE 2015. The examination will be conducted during forenoon (9 am to 12 noon) and afternoon (2 pm to 5 pm) sessions on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), that is, on Saturday, January 31, Sunday, February 1, Saturday, February 7, Sunday, February 8 and Saturday, February 14, 2015. Some of the papers will be held in multiple sessions. The Results are expected on Thursday, March 12, 2015.
