Hotel Management Entrance Exams
Hotel Management Entrance examination is conducted on an All India Basis to provide admissions to various institutes and universities in India offering hotel management courses.
The National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) is a registered body which controls education of hospitality management through a structured curriculum. The council operates under Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Government of India. There are 24 Government sponsored institutes of Hotel Management and 8 Food Craft Management Institutes located in different parts of India. Almost all the Hotel Management Colleges conduct their own entrance exams.
Eligibility for Hotel Management Entrance Exam:
- Minimum qualification required is 10+2 (% varies for different institutes)
- Age limit for General/PH applicants is 22 years and 25 years for SC/ST candidates as on 1st July. Incase of SC/ST candidates relaxation of 3 years is given to upper age limit.
Admission Process for Hotel Management entrance Examination:
Admission is based on the performance of the candidate in written exam, personal interview and group discussion.
Hotel Management Entrance Examination Pattern:
- Duration of Hotel Management Entrance Exam is 2 hours.
- The exam comprises of multiple choice questions on current affairs, GK, English, Aptitude and Numerical Ability.
- The paper consists of objective type questions where 1 mark is awarded for every correct answer and 0.25 marks are deducted for a wrong answer.
Most of the Hotel Management institutes follow the same exam pattern.
