About IBSAT

IBSATThe IBSAT which is for 2 hours duration is aimed to test the applicant's ability in quantitative techniques, data interpretation, data adequacy, vocabulary, analytical reasoning and reading comprehension. The weightage for the IBSAT is 25% in the admission process. All applicants are required to write an essay in English on a general topic not exceeding 400 words in 2 pages immediately after the IBSAT test on the same day at the same Test Center. The time provided for the General Essay is 30 minutes. It is to test the applicant's English writing skills, understanding of the topic and logical flow in presentation. The applicant will be given 5 topics out of which one topic is to be chosen. The weightage for the General Essay is 5% in the admission process. The applicants who do not write the General Essay as required for any reason will not be called for Interview. However those applicants who submit GMAT Scores (in lieu of IBSAT) will be required to write the General Essay on the Interview Day at Hyderabad. The weightage for the past academic record is 20% in the admission process. All the shortlisted candidates will have to take a General Knowledge Test on the day of the interview at Hyderabad. The test will be for a duration of 30 minutes and will have 100 multiple choice questions. This is to test the applicants knowledge on current affairs and general awareness. The weightage for the General Knowledge test is 10% in the admission process. Each candidate has to make a presentation on a selected topic for 5-7 minutes. The list of topics will be provided in the selection kit. The weightage for the Micropresentation is 20% in the admission. The interview is the final stage of selection process. The Interview Panel will focus on testing the knowledge of the candidates on the topic presented in the micropresentation and understanding the attitude, aptitude and aspirations of the candidates. The weightage for the interview is 20% in the admission process.

Eligibility

A bachelor's degree from any discipline, with 50% and above as calculated by respective University. Students in their final year bachelor's degree course are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their graduation requirements including practical examinations / viva / assignments before April 30, 2010. Such applicants will have to produce a certificate to that effect at the time of admission. For any extension of this deadline, the applicants should apply separately, giving the schedule of their graduation examination. The last date for submitting the proof of graduation is October 01, 2010, failing which the provisional admission will automatically stand cancelled.

Application Form

Applicants can apply by mailing the application forms obtained on campus along with relevant documents. Applicants interested in appearing for IBSAT can apply online by filling up the Application Form and make payment of Rs.1,100 towards the cost using Credit/Debit Card (Visa/MasterCard/Citibank Card) through secure internet payment gateway. Applicants applying through online should attach their scanned color photograph along with the Online Application. The IBSAT Application Material will be sent to such applicants. Alternatively, applicants can download the Application Form complete it and send it to the Admissions Officer along with the demand draft of Rs.1,100 towards the cost (DD in favor of "IUCF A/c IBSAT" payable at Hyderabad). The IBSAT Application Material will be sent to such applicants. The last date for submission of application for the candidates applying based on their GMAT scores is December 12, 2009. The applicants applying through any one of the above modes should enclose the attested copies of X, XII and graduation marksheets along with the Application Form. The students applying online have to forward the attested copies of their marksheets to the Admissions Officer. The students in the final year of graduation may enclose the marksheets up to the current semester/ year.

Results

The results of the IBSAT 2009 will be hosted online on January 10, 2010. The details of the score obtained in the test will be intimated to all applicants.
