The new Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) have begun to re-issue their final admission lists of the two-year full-time Post Graduate Program (PGP) for the 2014-16 academic session. The new IIMs which have already released the updated lists are IIM Trichy, IIM Kashipur, IIM Udaipur and IIM Raipur. The two other new IIMs are IIM Rohtak and IIM Ranchi.
As per a clarification notice, due to the revision of data, some admission offers extended previously have been withdrawn. On the other hand, some offers have been extended to candidates who did not get admission as per the previous list. The wait-lists are also being prepared based on the revised data. Candidates need to visit the institute official websites to check the admission status.
The earlier lists issued by the new IIMs stand cancelled because IIM Kozhikode was unable to submit the scores of a number of candidates due to technical issues, according to sources. As a result of the error, some of the names of the candidates were missing in the final admission list, although they appeared on the main list. Individual IIMs and candidates had contacted IIM Trichy in the matter, which is the admission coordinator of the six new IIMs this year. An investigation was conducted on the basis of requests from candidates about error messages at the relevant websites. More than 100 candidates are estimated to be affected due to this glitch.
The new IIMs conducted a combined Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) process termed “Common Admission Process” (CAP) this year, coordinated by IIM Trichy. The Results of the Common Admission Test 2013 (CAT 2013), which is one of the most prestigious examinations in India for admission into the IIMs as well as other premier management institutes, were declared on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. CAT 2013 was conducted from Wednesday, October 16 to Monday, November 11, 2013.
The older IIMs have already released the admission lists of their two-year full-time management programs for the 2014-16 academic session.
