Few dates of the Joint Entrance Examination Main 2014 (JEE Main 2014) are clashing with the 2014 board examinations to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for Class XII.
JEE Main 2014 is expected to be held by CBSE on Sunday, April 6, 2014 (on offline mode) across India in two different slots – 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm. The online examination is expected to be held on Wednesday, April 9, Friday, April 11, Saturday, April 12 and Saturday, April 19, 2014. However, Class XII students need to appear for the CBSE's Urdu examination (board) on Wednesday, April 9, 2014.
Few other dates of the two examinations (scheduled for April 11 and 12, 2014) are clashing as well. Aspirants have sent requests to CBSE to change the dates. Candidates need to send a copy of the Class XII admit card to CBSE so that new dates can be allotted to them. These admit card copies need to be sent via email, along with the application number for JEE Main 2014. Candidates need to use the same email ID for the request to change dates as the one which was mentioned in the application form of JEE Main 2014.
JEE Main is an entrance examination conducted by CBSE for admissions to undergraduate (UG) engineering, technology and architecture courses offered by the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) and few more. Moreover, it is an eligibility test for the JEE Advanced, which is the common entrance examination for admission into the UG programs of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian School of Mines Dhanbad (ISM Dhanbad).
