Its ideology of linking art to the common man, following a broad based means of education in art sets it apart from the rest. It offers a five year diploma course in painting and art education besides which it also has appreciation courses, workshops in graphics, painting, Hindustani music, psychology and interrelated subject lectures. An excellent library on art, Indian culture and graphics is another of its attractions.
