What is KMAT 2016?

Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT 2016) is conducted by Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges’ Association (KPPGCA) for taking admission to Master of Business Administration (MBA), Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and Master of Computer Application (MCA) program offered at private colleges in Karnataka. KMAT is the gateway to more than 169 + AICTE-approved University-affiliated B-schools in Bangalore and Karnataka. KMAT 2016 is an All India exam that will be held in more than 10 cities all across the country and is open to candidates from all parts of India and abroad.

Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA) was established in 2003 to provide proactive support to professional education and facilitate and streamline admission to postgraduate professional courses, viz., MBA, PGDM and MCA. The KMAT will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016.

Performance Tips:

Section wise details for KMAT 2016 are as follows:

  • Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension: English language ability would be tested through questions on Grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms, comprehension of passages etc. There would be questions on understanding of the contents of the passages and choice of appropriate words, phrases, expressions and similar language skills. This shall include the passages with questions based on their contents to test comprehension.
  • Logical and Abstract Reasoning: This section shall include questions to measure how quickly and accurately you can think. The section may have questions in sets as well individual ones based on Verbal Reasoning, analogy among others.
  • Quantitative Ability: Matriculation standard questions can be found in this section. This shall include questions to know how fast and accurate you can work with numbers, do numerical calculations, understand various arithmetic problems involving ratio & proportion, percentage, interest, time & speed etc. Apart from Arithmetic, the questions may also be based on Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry and parts of mathematics. This test also helps to measure your power of quantitative reasoning, interpretation of tables, common graphs & charts.
  • General Awareness: KMAT 2016 proposes to test the General Awareness of the candidates as is expected from an educated person living in the society. No specific syllabus can be defined for General Awareness. However, it may contain questions on current and conventional General Knowledge on various issues past and present.

How to Apply for KMAT 2016?

The Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges’ Association (KPPGCA) conducts the Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT), which is a national level entrance test. The KMAT is held every year for taking admission to Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and Masters of Computer Applications (MCA) in the participating colleges in Karnataka.

KMAT 2016 is an MBA entrance exam for Karnataka State, which is conducted by Karnataka Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA) and is going to be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016. The application process for the Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) has already started and candidates who are aiming to pursue MBA from any one of the top B-schools in Karnataka must have to qualify in the KMAT entrance exam.

How to Apply for KMAT 2016:

  • Candidates can apply online.
  • Candidates must submit a DD of Rs. 1000/- favoring "KMAT 2016" payable at Bangalore. DD can be taken at any nationalized bank.
  • Name : Write your Name as it appears in your School Leaving Certificate.
  • Nativity : Tick the appropriate option to confirm your nativity If you do not belong to Karnataka state by either Birth or Domicile, please tick the option - Non-Karnataka candidate.
  • Choice of Test Centre : Select your preferred test Centre city from the list of cities provided Kindly note that once the city has been selected changes will not be allowed.
  • Gender : Tick the appropriate gender.
  • Applying for : Tick the appropriate test for which you are appearing Failure to tick correctly will result in incorrect processing of your score.
  • Date of Birth : Enter your Date of Birth in DD/MM/YYYY format in the space provided.
  • Stream : Tick against the stream in which you have obtained your graduation degree
  • Address : 8.Write your complete postal mailing address including your first name in CAPITAL LETTERS. Failure to write complete address might result in non-receipt of postal communication, if any.
  • Fees : DD should be made in favor of "KMAT 2016" and should be payable at Bangalore
  • Candidates who want to take up both the MBA and the MCA test will have to register for each test separately. Two separate Hall Tickets will be issued.
  • Please make a photocopy of the application form and DD as a proof of acknowledgement.

Eligibility Criteria for KMAT 2016

Karnataka Mathematical Aptitude Test (KMAT) is an entrance examination conducted for taking admission to postgraduate professional courses offered at the participating colleges in Karnataka. The KMAT is conducted by the Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges’ Association (KPPGCA) every year. Based on the scores the candidates obtain in this examination, admission will be given to them to Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and Masters of Computer Applications (MCA) in the various participating colleges in Karnataka. 

Eligibility Criteria for KMAT 2016:

Entry requirements into professional courses in Karnataka are strictly followed as per the UGC guidelines. 

  • For MBA/PGDM Programs: Candidates must have bachelors degree/ masters degree examination of any recognised education body in Commerce, Management, Arts, Social Sciences, Engineering/ Technology or equivalent, and have secured at least 50% of marks in the aggregate 40% for SC/ST candidate. Candidates in their final year of bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply.
  • For MCA Program: Candidates must have bachelor's degree with 50% marks. Candidates should have studied Maths at 10+2 stage or at graduation level.

Karnataka Postgraduate Colleges’ Association (KPPGCA) conducts Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT 2016), for taking admission into management quota seats in colleges affiliated with Universities in Karnataka. Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) is a standardised test being administered since 2003 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admission to MBA, PGDM and MCA programmes.  Any B-School across the state of Karnataka can consider KMAT Score as an admission input based on the Score Cards issued to the candidates. KMAT will continue to be your passport to over 169  B-Schools across the state of Karnataka. The KMAT will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016.

Paper Pattern for KMAT 2016:

KMAT 2016 is proposed to be conducted with moderate level of difficulty without creating confusion in paper-pencil mode. The exam will have MCQs only.
