Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) is a public university located at Katra in the Udhampur District of Jammu and Kashmir. It was founded in 1999 as a residential and technical university to offer scientific and technical education of the highest standards. The University offers science and management based engineering education of the highest quality in subjects of contemporary importance. The University has four Colleges consisting of twelve Schools which promote six Undergraduate and nine Postgraduate programmes besides Ph.D. and Post doctoral research fellowship.
Facilities Seeing the needs of learners, Hostel, Library, Laboratories and Sports facilities have been properly managed by the university. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University has initiated Student Assistantship Programme (SAP) for professional courses to inculcate work culture and competitive spirit among the students and also to implant in them a drive towards excellence. Corporate Relations & Scientific Research Division coordinates R&D and consultancy activities facilitating training and placement for the students.
