JBIMS, Mumbai Concludes Final Placements for MMS batch 2013

Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), Mumbai concluded its final placement process for the students of second year MMS batch 2013. Around 88 companies participated in the placement process, out of which 36 were first time recruiters.  120 students participated in the placement process. The students were placed across FMCG & pharma, manufacturing & conglomerates, Retail & E-Commerce, BFSI & IB, telecom & IT and consulting. The students were offered a highest salary of Rs. 26 lakhs and average salary of Rs 15.32 lakhs.

The numbers of pre-placement offers provided to the students were 55.  The companies that provided the offers were Accenture Management Consulting, JP Morgan, Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Nomura, Reliance Industries, Vodafone, Mahindra, Standard Chartered Bank, Flipkart, Colgate, Palmolive, Castrol, Citibank, Hindustan Unilever, General Electric, Procter & Gamble and Abbott. The highest pre-placement offer was Rs 24.22 lacs.

Sectoral Breakup:

Banks and Finance Sector:

Many top financial institutions and banks like Capital Markets, Oswal, India bulls, Fidelity, Morgan Stanley, and Avista Advisory participated in the process and offered front-end investment banking roles to the students. Some of the top prominent recruiters include Yes Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Citibank, HSBC, JP Morgan, Nomura, Ratnakar Bank, Tata Capital etc. The students were offered a salary package of Rs 14 lakh.

FMCG and Pharma Sector:

Top job providers under FMCG and pharma sector include Procter & Gamble, L'Oreal, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, PepsiCo, Hindustan Unilever, Ranbaxy, Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Abbott Pharma, General Mills, Cipla, Glenmark Pharma and Colgate-Palmolive. The media salary provided was Rs 16 lacs.

Manufacturing and Conglomerates Sector:

The students were provided offers with a salary package of Rs 12.5 lacs under various profiles which include marketing, corporate finance, strategy and general management etc. The top business groups that provided the offers include Lodha Group, ACG Worldwide, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Steel, Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd, Godrej & Boyce, Alfa Laval, Cummins and BASF. International offers were also provided by SADIG Group and Petrofac.

Consulting firms, Retail & E-Commerce Sector:

Accenture Management Consulting, Deloitte, McKinsey & Co and Jones Lang LaSalle are some of the key consulting firms that participated in the process. The major recruiter for Retail & E-Commerce sector includes Flipkart, Amazon and Suvidhaa Infoserve. Jumbo electronics offered international profiles to the students. The highest salary package offered for this sector is Rs 24 lakhs.

Telecom and IT Sector:

Accenture, Vodafone, Microsoft, HCL Technologies, Cap Gemini TCS and Infosys were some of the top recruiters under this sector. The salary package offered to the students was Rs 11.5 lacs.
