Medical Entrance Exams are conducted on an All India Basis as well as at the State Level to provide admissions to various Medical Colleges. Some national level institutes also conduct their own entrance exams. The Medical Council of India is responsible for medical education in India. Most of the Government Medical Colleges provide admissions only to Indian Nationals on the basis of All India Medical Entrance exam. However, there are NRI/Foreign student quotas in few Government Medical Colleges to provide admissions to NRIs and foreign students.

Eligibility:

Applicants with 10+2/ equivalent with Physics, Chemistry & Biology or Pre Medical or B.Sc background can appear for the medical entrance exam.

Application Procedure:

• Application forms can be obtained by post or can be downloaded online.
• Completed application form along with the demand draft can be sent by post.

Admission Process:

• Admission criteria vary for different State level exams. In general admissions are based on:
• Rank obtained in the entrance exam.
• Marks obtained in the final examinations of class 12^th.
• Performance of the candidate in personal interviews conducted by few medical colleges.
